The International Solid Wastes Association (ISWA) will be giving out its 1st Edition of Media Award at the ISWA 2012 World Congress holding from 17th -20th of September at Florence, Italy and are calling for entries of articles published between 5th June 2011 and 4th June 2012 for selection.
The entries are to be submitted to the WAMASON National Secretariat via
edith.t.iriruaga@wamason.org; c.iwokwagh@wamason.org or enquiry@wamason.org, not later than 8th June, 2012. WAMASON shall forward best evaluated entries to ISWA for selection.

The author (only professional environmental journalist) of the best
article will be invited to the ISWA 2012 World Congress at no cost to
receive the award and also be given the opportunity to cover the
conference discussions.

The mission of ISWA Media Award is to raise social awareness about the
necessity of high quality waste management systems and stimulate
journalist to cover the important questions related to waste generation,
collection, transportation, treatment and ultimate disposal, in an effort
towards sustainable development under a low carbon economy. As a guide to
author of articles in this edition, ISWA is looking at the theme “Beyond
Sustainability: new practices for solid waste management”
