Election into all classes of membership excluding Honorary Fellow of the Society shall be through the Education and Admission Committee. Application shall be made with the Society’s standard application form. In all cases of professional class, the applicant must have attained 25 years of age and shall be required to submit in addition to a CV, a professional practice report detailing major projects/activities which the applicant has been involved.

The Society also runs a mature membership admission programme to afford election opportunity to persons who have reached 40 years of age, hold, and have held an acceptable position in connection with Waste Management for a minimum of five years.
